Fredericksburg police investigate gas station armed robbery caught on camera

FREDERICKSBURG, VA (WWBT) - Fredericksburg police are investigating an armed robbery caught on surveillance camera that happened at a gas station last Friday night.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. at the Shell gas station on Route 3.

Police say the suspect came into the gas station and demanded money from the store clerk, who opened the register and placed the drawer on the counter. After taking the money from the drawer, police say the suspect ran off on foot heading towards Mahone St.

Police describe the suspect as a white man between 6' to 6'2", 140 to 160 pounds, with brown eyes, and they say he was wearing a black mask, black pants and a black jacket with a hood over his head.

The investigation is ongoing.
