2 arrested after woman shot during South Richmond robbery

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Police have arrested two people after an overnight shooting in South Richmond that sent one woman to the hospital.

Carsino Johnson, Jr., 20, and Jasmine Johnson, 23, are charged with armed robbery and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Police say the two suspects are cousins.

The shooting happened around 11:53 p.m. Wednesday on Crutchfield Street, behind George Wythe High School near Westover Hills Blvd.

According to police, this is a robbery gone bad. A woman was shot in the leg when two suspects tried to rob her.

Police say she was rushed to to VCU Medical Center. The victim is expected to be okay.

The victim says she and two of her friends were robbed of their cell phones, wallets and jackets by three people. Police are now searching for the third suspect.
