(WWBT) - Roslyn and Daisy met in grade school, now nearing their golden years. They're grateful for the friendship and kindness that's sustained them through devastating losses.

Roslyn confesses that Daisy comforted her through the darkest period of her life, when her son, a Marine was murdered, shot to death on a city street. She says Daisy looks out for everyone else's welfare even though she's suffered through setback after setback.

In her thirties, Daisy, a divorced mother of four had a heart attack and stroke that left her partially paralyzed, unable to work.

Roslyn says there have been times her friend struggled to pay rent, utilities and get medical treatment. She wants everyone to know that Daisy always finds reason to smile and never, ever lets her troubles keep her down.

Roslyn didn't want the year to end without doing something great for her best friend,  so she nominated Daisy for today's "Acts Of Kindness"Recognition.
