HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Amanda Spiller of Henrico won the $1 million prize in the Virginia Lottery's $100 Million Cash Extravaganza game, September 25.
"I was in shock… complete shock," said Spiller. "I had to double and triple check."
Spiller purchased the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven at 2750 Hungary Spring Road in Richmond. She had the choice of taking the full $1 million prize over 30 years or a one-time cash option of $681,000 before taxes. She chose the cash option.
The 7-Eleven received a $10,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
Spiller had no immediate plans for her winnings but her seven-year old daughter suggested buying a helicopter and a limousine.
The Henrico woman is the second $1 million winner to claim her prize, which means two million-dollar tickets remain unclaimed.
The chances of winning the top prize in this game are 1 in 1,836,000. The chances of winning any prize are 1 in 2.71.
