Dutch cyclist's bike stolen from Richmond hotel ahead of World Championships

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Thieves swiped a professional cyclist's bike from a downtown Richmond hotel days before the World Cycling Championships.
Richmond police are investigating the theft from the Richmond Marriott hotel on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and distributing a photo of a possible suspect and the stolen bike. Police say it was owned by Team Netherlands and is valued at more than $10,000.

The man pictured is a black male, 35-40 years old weighing around 190 lbs. He is shown wearing a fedora, jean shorts, a white t-shirt and tennis shoes.
The bicycle is a Specialized S-Works, black in color with white lettering.
Police ask anyone with information about this suspect or this bicycle to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
