HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) - Hopewell Police arrested a man they say fired a shotgun that injured four people.

William Timothy Faust, 24, is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and brandishing a firearm.

According to police, the shooting happened in the 500 block of N. 7th Ave. around 12:36 a.m.on July 25. Four people were struck by pellets from the shotgun. All four victims were treated at local hospitals for non-life threatening injuries.

The victims originally said a car pulled up to the intersection and an unknown person fired a single shotgun blast from inside the vehicle. However, police say this was fabricated by the victims - Faust knew the victims, and he retrieved a shotgun from the vehicle and shot the victims after an argument.
