COLONIAL HEIGHTS, VA (WWBT) - The Southgate Square shopping center in Colonial Heights may replace the now closed Kmart with Burlington Coat Factory.

Kmart will soon be demolished in order to build the new Burlington Coat Factory. Burlington Coat Factory is scheduled to open April 2016. If the Kmart space is not cleared by March 2016 Burlington Coat Factory would delay its opening October 2016.

Burlington Coat Factory will be the main store to fill the 51,000 square foot space.

The space left by Kmart will also be occupied by two other stores. Those stores have not yet been confirmed.

During this project there will also be improvements to the main entrance of the shopping center from Southpark Boulevard. There will be a third access lane to the entrance and a pedestrian cross walk.
