HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Del. Joe Morrissey will now make a run for the Virginia Senate as an Independent.
A circuit court judge on Tuesday denied a requested injunction by Morrissey to halt the printing of Democratic Party ballots so his petition signatures could be reviewed.
Democrats rejected most of the signatures Morrissey had submitted for the primary election, saying the signatures were invalid. Not having the required amount of valid signatures meant Morrissey's name couldn't appear on the ballots.
Morrissey requested the injunction, claming the Democratic Party had violated his Constitutional rights.
