RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - RadioShack closed three local stores over the weekend.

Posted "Closed" signs confirm that the stores on Azalea Avenue in Richmond, at 7102 Hull Street Road in the 360 West Shopping Center, and at Southpark Mall in Colonial Heights were all shut down.

The struggling electronics and cell phone retailer did not respond to requests for comment, or indicate how many employees may have lost their jobs.

A source says RadioShack is also converting nine of its nearly two dozen local stores to clearance sale stores.

This comes after two local RadioShack locations became clearance stores two weeks ago. The company announced in March 2014 that it would close 1100 stores nationwide.
