RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Part of East Broad Street in Richmond is closed after a water main break.
Witnesses first reported seeing the break along East Broad Street near North 22nd Street on Saturday. The Richmond Department of Public Utilities posted about the break on its official Twitter page on Sunday.
East Broad has been reduced down to one lane as crews are fearful for public safety. Specifically, Richmond City officials are concerned about buckling pavement. That's the reason they have decided to shut down part of the street.
There's been no estimated time announced on when East Broad Street will be completely be re-opened.
