RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Virginia Union football team is 5-1 this season, the Panthers' best start to a season since 2007. Union is 3-0 in CIAA play.
New head coach Mark James has the Union offense off to a fast start by following a simple philosophy; get the ball in the hands of the play makers.
Last week the Panthers scored 78 points in a win over Lincoln. That marked the third most points scored by Union in a single game in program history. The team also set a new program record with 697 yards of total offense.
Virginia Union travels to 1-5 Chowan this week.
