Highland Springs H.S. lockdown lifted after gun recovered

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Highland Springs High School was placed on lockdown around 2:15 p.m. following a report of a student with a gun on school property.

After a Henrico Police School Resource Officer received the report, officers located a loaded handgun in a vehicle parked in the school parking lot. The lockdown was lifted around 3:45 p.m..

There are no reports of injuries and no reports that the gun was used in a threatening manner.  Two persons of interest, a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, are being questioned by police.  At this time, no charges have been placed.  School Resource Officers will continue to investigate the incident.
