RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a small fire at a South Richmond nursing home.
Officials tell us crews responded to an assisted living community located at 1021 German School Road around 4:30 a.m. Saturday.
When they arrived they noticed smoke coming from the fifth floor. The fire was quickly marked under control. One person was transported to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation.
Investigators say this may have started in a trash container. No word on an exact cause at this hour.
