Fire causes $15,000 worth of damage to vacant Richmond home

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - An estimated $15,000 worth of damage was caused when flames broke out in a vacant Richmond home Tuesday morning, according to fire investigators.

The fire started around 1 a.m. in the 3900 block of Autumn Lane, near Hopkins Road. The door of the home had to be broken by Richmond firefighters in order to get to the flames. The fire is believed to have started inside of a bedroom.

The cause is under investigation.
