Man dies following crash in Dinwiddie County

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - State Police are investigating a fatal two vehicle crash on Route 460 eastbound near Sutherland Drive in Dinwiddie County.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. Sunday, troopers responded to the scene after the driver of a Chevrolet Camaro was struck head-on by the driver of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep Cherokee was traveling westbound in the eastbound lane of Route 460 at the time of the crash.
The man driving the Camaro suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center where he later died. Police are now working to notify next of kin.
The woman driving the Jeep suffered serious life-threatening injuries. She was flown by Med-Flight to VCU Medical Center.
Route 460 eastbound remains closed to allow for the on-going investigation.
