VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (WWBT) - New details about the dolphins that are washing ashore in Virginia.

We now know the total number of dead dolphins found along Virginia's coast this year has reached 300.

Over the past decade, the average number of dolphins that wash ashore each year has typically been 65.

While most of the deaths have occurred in Virginia, more dolphins are now washing up in North Carolina.

In late August, scientists found a virus is to blame for the deaths but right now there is no cure.
