HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Hanover sheriffs arrested a man in connection to a Hanover home break-in, but are still working to solve two others.
Three Hanover homes have been broken into overnight since mid-August, prompting the Sheriff's Office to ask the public for help. The break-ins occurred at night in the Royal Glen, Milestone, and Fox Head subdivisions. In two of the instances the homes' doors were left open or unlocked. No one was injured in any of the thefts.
Hanover investigators arrested Mark F. Vaden, 53, in connection with the Fox Head neighborhood break-in. They aren't sure if he's connected to the other two incidents. Vaden has been charged with one felony count of burglary.
The Hanover Sheriff's Office reminds residents to report any suspicious or criminal activity immediately. Close and lock all exterior doors and windows, including garages. Use an alarm system or deadbolt. Light the outside of your home and keep foliage well trimmed. Do not hide a key on your property.
Anyone with information about the crimes is being asked to call the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000.
