Man wanted in Lunenburg quadruple shooting

The Lunenburg County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man believed to be responsible for a quadruple shooting.

Deputies say around 1:00 a.m. Saturday they responded to a home on Pleasant Oak Road and learned four adult males had been shot.  All four victims were taken to Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill and later transferred to VCU Medical Center in Richmond with life threatening injuries.  As of Saturday the victims are listed in critical but stable condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a fight occurred during a social gathering. It is alleged that during the course of the fight 22 year old Codarrell Lee Yates of Crewe, retrieved a handgun and began firing, striking four adult males. The investigation is still ongoing.

Felony warrants have been obtained for Yates on four counts of aggravated malicious wounding, four counts of use of a firearm while committing aggravated malicious wounding, and one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  He is considered armed and dangerous.
