KING WILLIAM, VA (WWBT) - An eight-year-old girl remains in serious condition at VCU Medical Center after a dog attack in King William County.
The King William Sheriff's Office says it happened around 1:15 p.m. Sunday at a house on Corann Drive in the Oak Springs Subdivision.
The girl was playing outside with a nine-year-old boy when a pit bull from a nearby home chased the children to the home of another neighbor. Her thumb was ripped off by the dog and she was also bit in the neck. It's unclear if doctors will be able to save the little girl's thumb.
The boy was bitten in the chest. He's since been released from the hospital.
Authorities confirm the animals are now in quarantine. Charges are pending.
