RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The City of Richmond and Radio One launched their 9th annual joint holiday toy drive Tuesday.

Donations of new unwrapped toys, books and clothing are being accepted at the Walmart Supercenter off Forest Hill Avenue through Thursday. Your favorite Radio One personalities will broadcast live from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

State Delegate Joe Morrissey is donating ten bicycles and challenging others to get on board.

"We're encouraging people in the public to come out and give up just something, because they, like me, have been blessed with so many things," said Morrissey.

"We have 1000 families that write into our radio station requesting toys, some work all year round, perhaps just got laid off, or just some fallen on hard times and they need us," said Radio One personality T.T. Torrez.

Organizers hope to fill two giant pods with donated toys. Donations are also being accepted at all city fire stations and at Richmond City Hall.
