RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The singer of Richmond-based heavy metal band, Lamb of God, has been indicted in the Czech Republic.

Randy Blythe is accused of pushing a fan off the stage during a 2010 Prague concert, leading to the 19-year-old man's death.

Blythe will fly back to the Czech Republic for a trial in which he faces a manslaughter charge. His manager, Larry Mazer, said they plan to fight vigorously against these charges. Meantime, Lamb of God continues to perform on tour.

Czech authorities arrested Blythe in June, during a concert stop in the country. He was released after a month in prison and a $400,000 bond.

"All that the band, myself, and our lawyers can do is to present a defense and try to convince the panel of judges... that Randy is innocent of all charges," Mazer said in a statement. He says Blythe was defending himself against several fans jumping the stage and contends that not enough security was provided.

"We have testimony from the venue operator that acknowledges lax security and an improper barricade being used that evening," the statement reads.

A close friend of the band, Tommy Streat, said Blythe's battle ahead is upsetting for not only the band, but for thousands of fans pouring out support.

"It's disappointing and sad… Frustrating to know that there's another chapter that Randy has to go through with this whole ordeal," said Streat.

Streat says Blythe also intends on helping the family of the fan who lost his life.

"He told me that if he was indicted, he was going to go back (to the country) because he was innocent, and he wanted to go ahead and help that family get closure to what took place," added Streat.

The indictment follows a three-month investigation by Czech authorities, according to Mazer. A trial date will be set within three months. If convicted, Blythe could face up to 10 years in a Czech prison.
