Richmond police investigating 4 shootings Monday night

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Police responded to four shootings in less than three hours Monday night in Richmond.

One man is dead and three others are recovering from their injuries after this series of shootings. So far no one is in custody in any of these cases.

The first shooting happened just after 8:00 p.m. on Midlothian Turnpike. Police say a man was shot in the leg. He's expected to be okay.

Only 15 minutes later, police responded to another shooting, this time in the Southwood apartment complex off Tree Haven Drive. A man in his 30's died just a few minutes after officers arrived on scene. Police plan to notify his family before they release his name.

Another man is recovering after he was shot around 10:00 p.m. Police say the victim in this third shooting is out of surgery. He's been stabilized but he's still in critical condition at VCU Medical Center.

Then 15 minutes after that, police responded to a fourth and final shooting on Pollock Street. One person was shot, but police say he only has a superficial wound. Investigators say he should be fine.

Police say they're in the early stages of all of these investigations. So far no detailed descriptions of any suspects have been released. At this point investigators don't believe these are related.
