RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A family is desperately looking for answers after their loved one is found dead on the Appalachian Trail.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for any information on Scott Lilly's death.

Hikers discovered the 30-year-old's body back on August 12 of last year.

Investigators say Lilly died of asphyxiation, but they're not saying whether he was choked or strangled.

His sister traveled to Virginia from Indiana Monday morning and said she and her brother last spoke in July.

Most of Lilly's belongings haven't been recovered.

Investigators say he was last seen alive on July 31 at the Cow Camp Gap trail shelter.
