RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Don't be surprised if you see hundreds of confederate flags along Monument Avenue and around Downtown Richmond.

The Sons of the Confederate Veterans is celebrating its heritage this weekend.

The group scheduled several events around town including one monument that's been tagged by vandals.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans starts its weekend celebration at the Library of Virginia. The group is honoring the inauguration of Jefferson Davis as president 150 years ago this week.

They plan to celebrate big.

February 25, starting at 11, the group plans to have a parade from the DMV headquarters on Broad Street to the Robert E. Lee Monument where they will have a heritage rally.

You may remember the Lee monument was tagged with graffiti last month. Police have released this surveillance video showing the people they say are responsible. They haven't been arrested yet.

Organizers expect about 1,000 marchers for this parade.
