July 1, 6:30 p.m. Genworth Financial Celebrate Freedom Independence Day Concert: Children and adults are welcome to this annual all-American evening of music, fireworks and family fun! Event will feature children's activities, giveaways, food vendors and so much more! The United States Air Force Heritage of America Band will be in concert and a major fireworks display will follow. This event is free and open to the public but no pets allowed. Free parking will be available along with transportation between the parking lot and event site. 6620 West Broad St, Richmond.

July 2, 10 a.m. - Parham Road Independence Day Parade.  Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. from the parking lot of Trinity Lutheran Church (Parham & Lansdowne) and ends at the parking lot of Parham Road Baptist Church, 2101 N. Parham RoadA festival follows from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Free parking is available at the Park N Ride lot ( corner of Fordson & Parham Road)  and at Parham Road Baptist Church 2101 N. Parham Road.

July 2-4 Kings Dominion: Celebrate America's Independence Day with three expanded installments of the nightly fireworks display, Night of Fire, on July 2, 3 and 4.  Celebrating over 35 years of family fun and excitement, the Mid-Atlantic's premier amusement park is proud to salute the 'Stars and Stripes' and everything they stand for! All active duty, retired and former members of the armed forces will receive free admission to Kings Dominion on Sunday July 3 and Monday July 4.  Proper ID or discharge paperwork is required and family members can receive special discounted admission.

July 2, 5-11 p.m. Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Display: The Huguenot Volunteer Fire Department presents an evening of spectacular fireworks in Powhatan! July 3 - RVA Fireworks on the James will be held in downtown Richmond in the area near Brown's Island to celebrate Independence Day. Brown's Island in Downtown Richmond opens at 6 p.m., entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m., fireworks to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. More, see Sponsored by MeadWestvaco and Dominion. The Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra will be playing, alongside young performers from SPARC and the Richmond Ballet.

July 3, 7:05 p.m. - Pre-Independence Day Celebration at the Petersburg Sports Complex, 100 Ballpark Road.  Watch the Petersburg Generals baseball game beginning at 7:05pm, followed by a fireworks display.  For more information, call (804) 722-0141.

July 4, 11 a.m. -  Ashland Fourth of July Parade.  Walking parade line-up starts at 10:15am at Henry Clay School.  The parade itself starts at 11 a.m and ends at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center.  A patriotic concert follows at 11:30 a.m.

July 4, 11 a.m. - Richmond Kickers Third Annual Fourth of July Fest, presented by Northwestern Mutual.  Festivities begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 4 at Richmond City Stadium and will feature a Splash Zone, inflatables, delicious food, music, games and fun.  The Kickers professional soccer game will highlight the event as the Kickers host the Dayton Dutch Lions at 1:00 p.m.  Admission is just $4.00 per ticket before 12:00 p.m. and parking is free.

July 4 – Lewis Ginter All-American Celebration.  Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens offers free admission all day on July 4.  The garden is open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  You can take part in a parade around the Children's Garden starting at 2 p.m.  Wear red, white, and blue and decorate your wagons and strollers with materials provided.

July 4, 12-6 p.m. 4th of July Extravaganza: Help us continue to celebrate 50 years of service to the Goochland County Community! There will Food, Drinks, & Gate Prizes. There will also be a BIG drawing at 6pm. First prize is $1,000. Tickets for this drawing are ONLY $1. You can purchase these tickets at the event or from a GRC member and/or supporter. July 4, 1-5 p.m. Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration: Enjoy a spectacular array of festive entertainment and activities like arts and crafts, face painting, children's petting zoo, contests and games, pony rides, and two spectacular sky diving shows with Uncle Sam! Don't miss the watermelon feast, Uncle Sam on stilts, Jonathan Austin the juggler, a patriotic performance featuring a historic color guard, drum and fife music and a period musket salute by Living History Associates, Ltd. Live entertainment will include local talent Julius Pittman and the Revival, a high energy band blending a mix of southern rock and blues. Other entertainment includes the Commonwealth Bluegrass Band playing toe-tapping traditional and modern bluegrass. July 4, 2 p.m. - Fourth at the Fort will take place at Fort Lee.  Gates open at 2:00 p.m. and the KidZone activities are free until 4pm.  Starting at 5 p.m., tickets cost $1 each.  Live entertainment will be provided by the Masters of Motown and the Fort Lee Army band.  The fireworks display will begin at approximately 9:35 p.m.  Admission & parking are free.   Be ready to show a driver's license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance to access Fort Lee.   All adult passengers in the vehicle should be prepared to show ID.  For more information, call (804) 765-3176.

July 4, 5 p.m - Fireworks at Dogwood Dell: Celebrate at Dogwood Dell with four concerts including "Kidz in Da Biz", Sharon North, Richmond Concert Band and a Carillon bell concert. Richmond Concert band will be performing patriotic music, complete with cannon fire and bells. Performances will be followed by a fireworks extravaganza. Admission is free. Dogwood Dell at 6000 S. Blvd, Richmond.

July 4, 5 p.m. - Chesterfield County Fourth of July Celebration will take place at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds.  Gates will open at 5 p.m., with fireworks beginning at dark.  This year will feature a special activity area for kids and family-friendly entertainment.  Blankets and lawn chairs are recommended.  Alcohol, glass bottles, pets and personal fireworks are prohibited.  Limited parking is available.  Roads leading to the fairgrounds will close at 9 p.m., or when parking lots are full.   This event is being sponsored by the Chesterfield County Department of Parks and Recreation.  The Chesterfield County Fairgrounds are located at 10300 Courthouse Road, across from L.C. July 4,  9:15 p.m. Fireworks in Colonial Heights.  A fireworks display will take place in the vicinity of Charles Dimmock Parkway in Colonial Heights.   The best viewing of the fireworks will be off Interstate 95, Exit 53 or 54 in the Southgate Square/Wal-Mart Area.  Bring blankets and lawn chairs. July 4 – Fireworks at the Diamond.  Enjoy a game of baseball with your fireworks.  There are fireworks displays following four Flying Squirrels games starting July 4 through July 7.  The Squirrels play the Trenton Thunder at 6:35pm on July 4, and 7:05pm on July 5, 6, and 7.  Tickets usually sell out fast. *TICKETS FOR JULY 4 ARE SOLD OUT*
