RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Virginia's tourism slogan "Virginia is for Lovers" won one of two coveted spots on the Madison Avenue Advertising Walk of Fame in New York City, announced on Monday.

There were 26 candidates this year.  The winners were selected by the public who went to trade magazine Advertising Week's website and voted.

The winner's names are on plaques on Madison Avenue between 49th and 50th streets in Manhattan.

State Farm's "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there" was the other winner this year.  They join past winners like "What can brown do for you" (UPS) and "The Few.  The Proud.  The Marines" (US Marine Corps).

Yesterday was the start of Advertising Week taking place in New York.
