WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) - A dean at the University of Miami has been named the College of William and Mary's next top academic officer.
Michael R. Halleran will succeed Geoff Feiss, who is retiring after more than five years as provost at the Williamsburg university.
At Miami, Halleran was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. William and Mary President Taylor Reveley announced Halleran's appointment on Friday.
Halleran is a scholar of classical studies. His appointment as provost goes before the Board of Visitors in April. He begins his new job on July 1.
