Riley Wyant joined the NBC12 team in October 2021 as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter.
Previously, Riley was an Anchor/Reporter at NBC29 in Charlottesville for two years. While in Charlottesville, she won two 1st place AP Awards for Best Multimedia/Online Journalism and Best Light Feature.
Riley graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Multimedia Journalism, a minor in Political Science, and a concentration in Sports Media and Analytics.
At Virginia Tech, Riley focused heavily on sports broadcasting. She interned with WFXR Sports in Roanoke and spent time as a sideline reporter for ESPN3 and ACC Network Extra.
Outside of the newsroom, she enjoys spending time at Lake Anna wake surfing with her three younger brothers. She is an avid Hokie fan and tries to attend as many football games as possible.
Her favorite quote: "I don't know the secret to happiness, but I'll tell you what...I've never been sad at a Mexican restaurant."
