Digital Content Director

Kate Albright joined NBC12 as the Digital Content Director in August 2017. She, along with her team of producers, is responsible for managing the content on all the station’s digital platforms.

Before coming to Richmond, Kate worked as the Digital Content Manager at WTOL in Toledo, Ohio. Before that, she was producing newscasts for all day parts at WANE in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Kate started her career as an intern at WGN in Chicago, writing stories and cutting video for their 5 p.m. newscast – all while working to get her master’s degree in journalism from DePaul University.

Since moving to Richmond, Kate has helped NBC12 win two Edward Murrow Awards for “Excellence in Social Media” and launched a history podcast with her cohorts Rachel DePompa and Colten Weekley – check it out on Spotify by searching "How We Got Here."

Kate's love for truth-telling has taken her across the world, traveling to the country Georgia four times as a participant in a media partnership program where she taught media literacy and consulted foreign news organziations.

In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time in the city with her husband and three dogs.
