Andrew Freiden is NBC12's morning meteorologist. He was born in Blacksburg and raised in Reston. Andrew graduated with a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Virginia. He came to NBC12 from Roanoke.

The significant rainfall is forecast to push the James River into moderate flood stage with a crest of 19.1 feet by Friday afternoon. The river is currently at action stage with current levels close to 12 feet.
We are a the typical midpoint of hurricane season, we’ve already almost run out of names. This year is rivaling 2005 which had 27 storms named (6 were named after greek letters) and 15 hurricanes.
