Website to check tax rebate eligibility available

RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Taxpayers can now go to Virginia’s rebate website to check their eligibility for a one-time rebate.

The rebates will be distributed on a rolling basis. Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s office says this means some taxpayers will receive their refunds within the next three weeks.

They say by Nov. 7, eligible taxpayers will receive one-time tax rebates of up to $200 if they filed individually and up to $400 if they filed jointly.

Taxpayers must file by Nov. 1 and have had a 2022 tax liability to be eligible.

Taxpayers who received a state tax refund by direct deposit this year will likely receive their one-time tax rebate in the same bank account. All other eligible taxpayers will receive their money by paper check in the mail.
