Man charged with first-degree murder in Petersburg shooting

PETERSBURG, Va. (WWBT) -A Dinwiddie man is charged with first-degree murder after a man died in a Petersburg shooting Monday afternoon.
On Oct. 23, just before 12:30 p.m., police were called to the Family Dollar parking lot in the 2000 block of S. Crater Road.
Upon arrival, officers found one gunshot victim and pronounced him dead on the scene. The victim has been identified as Robert Morton Booker Jr., 65, of North Dinwiddie.
Following a vehicle pursuit, the suspect was taken into custody without incident in Dinwiddie County. He has been identified as Isaiah Dante Tyree, 31, of Prince George County.
Tyree has been charged with First Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
