Route 1 reopens in Hanover after water main break

HANOVER, Va. (WWBT) - A water main break closed Route 1 in Hanover in both directions for a couple of hours on Thursday morning.
The incident shut down the road between Berkley Street and Smithtown Road. It reopened after crews turned off the water around 8:30 a.m., but officials urged drivers to avoid the area so crews could work
The water main break caused a water outage for residents in the area of Route 1 between Archie Cannon and Ashland Towne Square.
