RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - If you have new or gently used books for elementary-age students, bring them by the “Drive Thru Book Drive” for Fox Elementary.

The William Fox Elementary PTA is hosting the book drive at First Baptist Church along Monument Avenue on Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The books will help rebuild classroom libraries following the devastating fire at the school.

Here is a look at the books that are most desired:

  • Picture books – these are so important for all kids, from K through 5th grade
  • Read aloud books – Our teachers don’t need a ton of these, but they love a few good ones at each grade level.
  • Independent reading books – from the very easiest early readers through chapter books like Harry Potter.
  • Book sets – these are especially for small group guided reading or book groups. (See AJK Education above for sets or ask your local bookseller.)
  • Richmond authors – bbgb has a great selection of RVA authors! Buy one at 25% and bbgb will match your donation and gift Fox a second book!
