Rainfall causes flash flooding for second day in a row

(WWBT) - It was the second day in a row that rainfall caused flash flooding in Central Virginia.

Flash Flood Warnings and advisories were issued for Richmond, Hanover and Henrico. A Flash Flood Warning has been extended until midnight for southeastern Hanover County.

NBC12 Meteorologist Megan Wise said that nearly 4 inches of rain fell in Richmond while more than 5 inches of rain fell just north of Mechanicsville.

Megan Wise also reports that law enforcement is reporting life-threatening flooding.

There are reports of numerous roads being closed due to high water in Mechanicsville.

According to 511 Central Virginia, standing water closed several roadways in Hanover County. It also reported standing water on roadways in New Kent.
