Police: Man wanted in Henrico homicide found dead following barricade situation

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - Police say a man, wanted in connection to the death of a 26-year-old woman, was found dead inside a hotel room following a barricade situation.

On June 6 around 1:30 a.m., Henrico police responded to the 4600 block of Demaree Court for a welfare check.

After officers entered the residence, and an adult woman, identified as Chardonnay Nicole Gunn, of Henrico, was found dead.

Police say Christopher Leon White Jr., 25, of Richmond was identified as the suspect and had two warrants for his arrest which included a firearm in the commission of a felony and second-degree murder.

Hampton Police said they were around 9:30 a.m. on June 9 in reference to White being in a hotel room at the Red Roof Inn along Coliseum Drive.

“The call was upgraded when information was received that the suspect was barricaded and armed with a weapon,” Hampton police said.

Law enforcement teams tried to safely take the suspect into custody. However, when Hampton SWAT members made it into the hotel room, they found White was already dead.

Police said 23-year-old Bronte Elise Adams, of Richmond, was also identified as a suspect and a warrant for accessory after the fact was obtained. Adams was arrested in Hampton and taken to jail.
