RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT/WDBJ) - Tuesday’s storms in southwest Virginia turned deadly.

Officials say a 34-year-old lawn care worker was loading a lawnmower into a trailer when the tree fell on top of it in Amherst County. He died on impact. Officials say the man was from out of state.

Another person was injured in Roanoke County after a tree fell onto a home.

Thousands were left without power after the storms rolled through.
