RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The Office of the Attorney General on Saturday officially appointed a private firm to investigate the handling of the controversial parole board release of Vincent Martin.
Martin was serving a life sentence for the murder of a Richmond police officer, when he was paroled last year.
The firm, Nixon Peabody, LLP., will investigate the Office of the State Inspector General’s handling of its original investigation into the Virginia Parole Board’s release of Martin.
There’s no timetable on when that investigation is expected to wrap up.
