VSP: 2 people shot on I-95 in Colonial Heights
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WWBT) - Virginia State Police say two people were shot along Interstate 95 in Colonial Heights Tuesday evening.
Troopers were called around 7:53 p.m. for the report of a shooting on I-95 roughly a half-mile north of Temple Avenue.
According to state police, two people were traveling north on I-95 in a black Kia Sportage when the vehicle was shot at multiple times by someone in another vehicle driving north in the left lane.
“The driver of the SUV was able to pull over on the right shoulder,” police said.
The driver and passenger in the SUV suffered gunshot wounds; the driver has life-threatening injuries while the passenger suffered serious injuries.
Both occupants were taken to an area hospital for treatment.
State police said this is an ongoing investigation.
