VUU student shot, killed in Washington D.C.
WASHINGTON, Va. (WWBT) - A Virginia Union University student was shot and killed in Washington D.C. on Monday.
Family told NBC Washington that 22-year-old Edward Wade, who was about to graduate from VUU, was shot and killed inside a market where he was picking up food while his mother waited outside.
“Edward was top of the line. You couldn’t get any better than him. He made a difference in his neighborhood,” Wade’s aunt Denise Wade Kirksey told NBC Washington.
Four other people were hurt in the shooting after at least one person opened fire inside and outside the market.
“I just hope that they find the people that done this to my nephew and give them the maximum time,” Wade’s aunt Cheryl McDonald told NBC Washington.
On Monday, police arrested and charged 21-year-old Terrance Oxner, of Manassas, with first-degree murder while armed.
