River Road in Hanover to be closed for bridge repair

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - The Virginia Department of Transportation says River Road in Hanover will be closed for a bridge repair project.

The section of River Road will be Route 605 located over Totopotomoy Creek between Spawn Run Lane and Old Spring Garden Lane.

The road will be closed from 8 a.m. to approximately 5:30 p.m. from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1.

The following detours will be in place:

  • Westbound River Rd. (Rt. 605) – Take Mechanicsville Tnpk. (Rt. 360) west to Spring Run Rd. (Rt. 628) west to Studley Rd. (Rt. 606) west to Hanover Town Rd. (Rt. 604) north back to River Rd.
  • Southbound River Rd. (Rt. 605) – Take Hanover Town Rd. (Rt. 604) south to Studley Rd. (Rt. 606) east to Spring Run Rd. (Rt. 628) east to Mechanicsville Tnpk. (Rt. 360) east back to River Rd.

Local drivers will be able to access property during the closure.
