Police investigating multiple car break-ins at Short Pump Park

HENRICO Co., Va. (WWBT) - Henrico police are investigating a string of vehicle break-ins that occurred at a county park over the weekend.

On Saturday, Jan. 23, officers responded to the 3300 block of Pump Road for the report of multiple larcenies.

“Officers arrived to discover vehicles with their windows smashed and victims reported personal items were stolen, like pocketbooks, etc,” police said.

Three reports were taken, and officers are working to further investigate this incident.

This comes a month after several vehicles were broken into at Deep Run Park in Henrico.

Officers remind the public of the following safety measures:

  • Do not store valuables in your vehicle
  • Do not store identification cards in the vehicle to prevent identity theft
  • Keep your vehicle locked
  • Report all suspicious activity
