RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - When you are able to go on big trips again or plan activities, experts say don’t suddenly get the urge to splurge and forget all the great habits you picked up during the pandemic.
There’s naturally going to be some pent up demand to buy things and maybe spend some money, but Michael Joyce with the Richmond financial firm Agili says don’t get carried away.
What I would advocate is that people take some of these habits that they’ve gotten in from the pandemic and apply them to 2021 and the new year,” Joyce said.
Joyce says don’t crazy and start going to every restaurant and flying to every vacation.
Spread it out, be measured and continue to put money into savings and retirement accounts. Budget your money and make paying yourself first the number one habit of 2021.
Also, keep that emergency fund, funded! We all learned last year how quickly things can change.
