RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - The City of Hopewell is accepting applications for community development grants, which are provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Community Development Block Grants can be awarded to address one of three national objectives:

  • benefit people with low and moderate incomes
  • help eliminate slums and blight
  • meet urgent needs that pose a serious threat to the health or welfare of a community

The grants can be awarded to public and private nonprofits, Community Housing Development Organizations, public agencies and for-profit entities.

The goal is to carry out public service, housing and development projects for Hopewell residents.
