STAFFORD Co., Va. (WWBT) - A Stafford County Sheriff’s Office K9 has had a gear upgrade after a donation for a bullet and stab protective vest.

K9 Rip received the donation from the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s.

The organization was established in 2009 with the mission to provide bullet and stab protective vests, along with other equipment, to dogs of law enforcement.

The organization has provided more than 4,000 vests to K9s in all 50 states since it first started.
