HENRICO Co., Va. (WWBT) - Henrico County Public Schools told its teachers and staff on Monday that the COVID-19 vaccine will soon be available to them as part of the state’s Phase 1b.

The district is working with the Henrico Health Department to make the vaccine available to all employees, which includes PREP employees, part-time employees, temporary employees, Adult Education and others.

“Timelines and other logistics are forthcoming; however, it should be noted that this is a priority effort and vaccines could begin to be administered to all employees starting as soon as next week,” the division said in a letter to teachers.

School officials said that the health department needs to know how many employees plan on getting the vaccine and how many still need information before making the decision on getting it.

Teachers were also told they would be getting an automated survey regarding the vaccine on Monday.
