Police search for tips after 28-year-old Ashland woman found dead in home

ASHLAND, Va. (WWBT) - The Ashland Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a 28-year-old woman was found dead inside her apartment.

Police say on Thursday, Jan. 7, they received a call for an unresponsive person inside a residence on the 700 block of Henry Street. Officers found a woman inside, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was identified as Ryann Kirstie Taylor of Ashland, formerly of Caroline County.

A preliminary investigation did not find any signs of forced entry, physical injuries or indications of a struggle within the home. The department is working with the Chief Medical Examiner to investigate the death, and lab results will determine the cause of death.
