RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - 3S Yoga opened its doors on Jan. 19, 2020, only a few months before the pandemic. 3S stands for Strength, Sweat, Stretch.

In order to make people feel safe in their studio during the pandemic, 3S Yoga built “pods” for customers to practice in.

Image 360 in Midlothian designed and built the pods. They are constructed using PVC pipe, shower curtains and zip ties.

The owner, Nadeya Ward, says she got the idea from a gym in California and thought the pods could be used for yoga.

In addition to the pods, there are four air purifiers each capable of purifying 1,000 square feet in an hour. Sanitizing wipes are available in each pod, and staff cleans the pods after each use.

Before the pandemic, classes consisted of around 20 people, but using the pods, they can now host eight people at a time.
