AMELIA COUNTY, Va. (WWBT) - State police say a woman was killed in a crash that occurred in Amelia County.

On Dec. 30 at 6:11 p.m., state police responded to a vehicle collision in the 11500 block of Chula Road.

According to the investigation, a 2005 Mercury Sable was headed north on Chula Road when it crossed the centerline and struck a trailer being pulled by a 2001 GMC Sierra.

The Sable then ran off the road to the right, struck cable boxes and overturned.

The vehicle came to rest on its top in the middle of Chula Road.

The driver and sole occupant of the Sable, identified as Susan Schoeder, 62, of Jetersville, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.

Schoeder died at the scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the Sierra, a 57-year-old man, was not injured.

Police say there are no charges pending.

The investigation of the crash is ongoing.
