CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WWBT)- Police have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that they say happened over a parking spot in Chesterfield.
Police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Perdue Springs Loop in Chester at about 3:12 p.m. on Saturday.
At the scene, officers found a man who had been shot. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The initial investigation indicates that the shooting was the result of a fight between a group of individuals over a parking spot. The suspect then left the scene.
On Sunday, police said they arrested Rakim Jackson in connection to the shooting and charged him with malicious wounding, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, discharging a firearm at an occupied building, and use of a firearm in a commission of a felony.
Jackson is being held without bond at the Chesterfield County Jail.
